Q.Is the notability assessment really free?
It is. The initial assessment carries no charge and no obligation. We would rather tell you honestly where you stand than take on a brief that cannot succeed.
Q.Does requesting an assessment commit me to anything?
It does not. It is simply an honest read on whether a notable, durable Wikipedia entry is achievable for the subject. If you decide to proceed, we will then discuss scope; if not, there is nothing further to do.
Q.What happens after I submit the form?
We review the subject and any sources you provide against Wikipedia's notability guidelines, then come back to you personally with a candid view - and, where relevant, what would strengthen the case.
Q.What if the subject isn't notable yet?
We will say so plainly and explain why, rather than encourage a submission bound to fail at review. In some cases we can outline what kind of independent coverage would change the picture in future.
